Vetting of childcare staff
All people registered with Ofsted as providers of childcare must undergo rigorous checks to ensure their suitability. Once registered it is then the responsibility of the childcare provider to ensure all staff, volunteers, students, etc, are suitable to work with children in the setting. It is also the responsibility of the provider to ensure that children are kept safe when visitors, contractors, etc, are on the premises.
Childcare staff, volunteers, etc, whom are left alone with a child at anytime must have a CRB enhanced disclosure.
