Who do I contact regarding any alleged unauthorised incursions on land by any party including gypsies, travellers, mobile traders or other itinerant users?
If you believe gypsies, travellers, mobile operators or other itinerants have parked on council land you can report the matter to the customer care contact centre on 01925 443322. An indication of location and number of vehicles will be requested when making your enquiry.
Property services will check the council's land ownership records to clarify if it owns the land and assess what action is required.
The council only has authority to seek a court order to repossess land which it owns. It does not have the authority to take action against trespass on land in private ownership. You will need to seek independent legal advice should you wish to take action to repossess land which is privately owned and subject to trespass.
Should you wish to report an incursion then please use the online form.
