The conference and review unit is responsible for a number of quality assurance and safeguarding functions within children and young people’s targeted services.  More information about these functions can be found by following the links below.

Who works in the conference and review unit?

We have a senior manager and seven managers with specialised roles.

Conference managers: chair Child Protection Conferences and strategy meetings in relation to allegations against people who work with children.

Independent reviewing officers (IRO): Manage the case review process for children in care and undertake Regulation 33 visits to Warrington Borough Councils children’s residential homes. 

Fostering review manager / assistant local authority designated officer (LADO): is responsible for managing the reviews of local authority foster carers and for managing referrals in relation to the LADO process and for chairing strategy meetings.
