Choosing adoption for your baby

Considering whether or not to place your child for adoption is likely to be one of the most difficult and emotionally demanding decisions you are likelyto be one of the most difficult and eotionally demanding decisions you are ever likely to make. Adoption is a legal process and it is permanent. 

If you are pregnant and are not sure whether you want to keep your baby, you might be thinking about adoption.  Pregnancy causes many changes, both physical and emotional and it can be a very confusing time, even in the best of circumstances.

Talking to someone about your options might help.  You can contact Warrington Borough Council’s Adoption Service for help and advice. The Adoption Team can offer you the information and assistance that you need either when you are pregnant, or at the time of your baby’s birth.

If you decide that adoption is the best option for your baby, an experienced adoption worker can help you to plan for your child’s future and will take into account your views, wishes and feelings every step of the way.  You will be able to find out all about all aspects of the procedure for adoption: how it happens, what to expect, what support you will receive and what adoption will mean for you and your child.
