The effective sharing of information across agencies is essential for the co-ordination of services for children and young people.  Through sharing information at the earliest opportunity, children and young people will be able to get the services they need, supporting them to achieve their potential.

In Warrington, practitioners from all services are working together to establish agreed information sharing procedures.  In developing an information sharing protocol for children's services, each agency will know the rules and regulations surrounding information sharing in Warrington, assisting children, young people and families in getting the support they need.

To help facilitate better information sharing, an information hub is being operated by the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) team and allows practitioners to access basic information about children or young people known to education, social care, CAF and Connexions databases. As part of the information sharing agenda, each local authority will also have a service directory. This directory  will help practitioners to find other services which may be able to offer support and should help to assist practitioners in supporting children and young people.
