Mobile youth base
The Mobile is a purpose built youth base on wheels, it is a converted Leyland Daf truck which is operated by Warrington Youth Service .
The mobile is used in areas of the borough where there is little or no access to buildings and there is an identified need. The mobile is also used to support community and town centre events offering a focus point for activities and planned consultation to happen.
Youth workers use the facilities on the mobile to provide planned activities, information, advice and support for young people between the ages of 13 – 19 across the borough. The mobile is fully accessible to all and has an on-board wheelchair lift.
The mobile provides a place where young people can safely meet their friends whatever the weather, participate in activities and projects with the support of youth workers. There is opportunity for young people to gain a variety of accreditations through participation in youth work activities.
The mobile is equipped with a small kitchen area, TV, DVD and games console. It has a wide range of both educational and leisure games and a variety of sporting equipment. The mobile does not have any toilet facilities, but has heating and electricity provided by an on-board generator.
