These procedures aim to:
- Protect and support learners
- Define abuse and inadequate care of the vulnerable adult
- Identify risk factors associated with abuse and inadequate care to enable to allow practitioners to identify cases more accurately
- Give anyone who suspects that a vulnerable adult is or may be subject to abuse, a clear means of acting on the concerns
- Provide a framework for decision making on how to proceed
- Provide monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the procedure
Ensure support for staff involved in the difficult task of protecting and supporting service users who may have been abused
