Older people's Day and Celebration Awards
Each year the Sports Engagement Team (SET) work closely with the Older People's Engagement Group (OPEG) along with other partners to put on Older People's Day which plays host to the Celebration of Older People Awards.
The awards recognise people aged 50+ who bring communities together and support others to share opportunities in arts, culture, sports, leisure, learning, having fun and staying healthy and active in later life.

New Balance English Half Marathon
SET is working closely with New Balance English Half Marathon to create a successful family of runs in Warrington. The date for the 2011 event is Sunday 18 September.
This will encompass a series of runs and events including:
- Wheelchair race at Victoria Park track
- 1 mile family fun run
- Information stands
- Local bands
- Showcasing of local talent.

Cheshire and Warrington Sports Awards
The Cheshire and Warrington Sports Awards are an annual event that recognises the contribution of local people to sport in the area and the talent of local individuals, teams and clubs. SET’s role is to compile the nominations from Warrington and to put them forward to the Cheshire and Warrington judging panel.
