Walton Hall Gardens Photography Competition
For photographs for the following categories, taken by amateur photographers at Walton Hall Gardens between 1 January 2012 and 29 October 2012.

• Best photograph of the gardens
• Best photograph of an event at Walton Hall Gardens

Judging will be carried out by the Chair of the Friends of Walton Estate, Walton Estate Manager and the Mayor of Warrington and there will be a prize presentation for the winners at Walton Hall.
Categories and prizes
• Photo by a primary school age child - A guided zoo tour for either your school class (school permitting) or group of up to 15 friends, with a drink and snack each in Walton Hall.
• Best photograph by a secondary school student - £50 of photographic equipment and a round of pitch & putt or crazy golf for up to eight people.
• Best photograph of the Children’s zoo - A guided tour of the Children’s zoo and a two course meal for up to six people at Walton Hall, on a Christmas 2012 Gardens and Hall event day.
• Best photograph of the Gardens - £90 of trees/shrubs or plants.
• Best photograph of an event at Walton Hall Gardens - A two course meal for up to six people at Walton Hall, on a Christmas 2012 Gardens and Hall event day and four tickets to 2013 Theatre in the Park (July or August).
• Best photograph of heritage onsite - A guided tour of the Hall and Gardens with an historical perspective, followed by cheese & wine tasting for up to 12 people (over 18’s) in the Hall on return. An alternative to wine is available for an under 18 winner or guest.
• Best seasonal photograph of Walton Hall Gardens - £100 of photographic equipment and a two course Christmas meal for two at Walton Hall, on a Christmas 2012 Gardens and Hall event day.
• Best overall photograph in competition - £200 of photographic equipment, a two course meal for up to six people at Walton Hall, on a Christmas 2012 Gardens and Hall event day, and a bottle of Champagne (or equivalent value gift if under 18).
Competition rules
1. Competition open to amateurs only.
2. Employees of Walton Estate are not permitted to enter.
3. Only one photograph per person per category is allowed.
4. On submitting your photograph, you agree to it being displayed or used within Walton Hall Gardens publications and material (inc. possible web use or in the press).
5. No fees will be paid for the use of the photograph. We cannot always guarantee that the photographer will be credited for reproduction of their photograph.
6. Name, address, other contact details (tel or e-mail) and age if entering an age related category are required upon submission of photograph (s). It is the responsibility of the entrant to advise Walton Hall Gardens of any changes to contact details.
7. If a photograph has images of people that are clearly recognisable in the fore, their agreement must be given to the entrant prior to it’s submission.
8. If a photograph has any images of children, only those of a family member submitted with written agreement of the parent/guardian can be accepted.
9. Submissions should be via e-mail attachment to waltonphoto@warrington.gov.uk unless entrants do not have access to such, and must be sent in a jpeg format. Walton Hall Gardens may need to omit other formats from the judging process.
10. The photograph submitted must clearly state the category for which the applicant wishes it to be entered. Omitting to do so may result in the entry being void.
11. The closing date is 1 November 2012. Entries received after this date will not be included.
12. No entries can be returned. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. The organisers accept no responsibility for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post.
13. Applicants must accept that the judges decisions are final, and that judging shall take place in good spirit in line with the aims of the competition.
14. If a category winner is unable to be contacted after a reasonable period of time, we reserve the right to award the winning prize to the runner up.
15. Where practically possible, winning applicants are expected to attend a presentation of the prizes shortly after the closing date for entries. (Publicity in the form of a press release and photograph is a requirement of entry - with parental agreement and supervision at the presentation invited).
