By declaring renewal areas the council has been able to tackle areas of very poor housing to turn things around. There are three areas in Warrington:
Renewal areas have a life of 10 years during which the council has tried to improve the aspects of the area, tackle any major problems in consultation with the residents and help to increase confidence in the local housing by offering financial assistance to residents to improve their homes.
Fairfield 1 and 2 and Latchford are now completed. All the environmental works that the council had planned have now been finished. If there are any further problems with landscaping, street lighting, highway maintenance or any other matter please call the contact centre:

The council does not intend to declare any more renewal areas in the foreseeable future.
