Planning policy
The planning policy team is responsible for the preparation of the council's Development Plan which provides a framework for making decisions about Warrington's future. It is also engaged on a range of other strategic planning studies and forward planning projects. The team provides guidance to developers, their agents and other relevant individuals and organisations on development potential, and also advises on emerging legislation, statutory procedures and relevant planning policies at the national, regional and local level.
Pre Publication Draft Core Strategy
Warrington's Core Strategy is the overarching strategic policy document in the Local Development Framework which, once adopted will replace the Unitary Development Plan adopted in January 2006. It sets out a planning framework for guiding the location and level of development in the borough up to 2027, as well as a number of principles that will shape the way that Warrington and specific areas within it will develop between now and then.
